Its that time of year again, Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries! This Sunday, Nov. 3rd we “fall back” one hour and not only need to change our clocks, but change out the batteries in all of our smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.  The National Fire Protection Association reports that 71% of smoke alarms which failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries – make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms will work if you need them.  The VRFA has received a generous grant of 9-volt batteries from the Energizer Company, so if you need a battery for your alarm, please contact us or stop by to pick one up at our headquarters station.  We can also help install batteries for those who are unable to do so. Lastly, if your smoke alarm is over 10 years old, ask us about a free replacement alarm, donated to us through Costco and World Vision.
