RV explosion in Auburn sends two to hospital
An RV explosion sent two adult females to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries this morning, Nov. 5. The RV was completely destroyed and a nearby home sustained damage in an explosion called in by neighbors at approximately 9:50 a.m. The incident occurred in the 13000 block of SE 297th St. in Auburn. VRFA Fire Investigators have determined the cause to be accidental in nature, related to heating and/or electrical equipment.
VRFA firefighters arrived on scene to find the RV leveled, with smoke coming from the rubble and two adult female patients with serious injuries. The patients were treated by VRFA crews and King County Medic One Paramedics before ground transport to Harborview Medical Center. Hot spots were extinguished and the scene secured.
