Since its inception, the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) has received clean reports from the Washington State Auditor. The most recent audit, for 2018, has also come back free of findings, making it twelve consecutive years.

“The unbroken string of clean audits at VRFA is a testament to the hard work and attention to detail that our team exhibits every day. We are proud to meet the fiscal integrity expectations of our elected officials and citizens,” said Fire Chief/Administrator Brent Swearingen.

Each year the Washington State Auditor’s Office performs accountability and financial audits of the Valley Regional Fire Authority to provide an objective examination of VRFA’s finances, an assessment that public funds and assets are protected and accounted for and that it follows government regulations and laws.

“Good stewardship is the foundation for what we do,” said Chief Financial Officer Mark Horaski, “I am grateful to be part of an organization that shares this belief as we work for the benefit of everyone that we serve.”
