Activity:
- After watching the video, talk with your family about phone numbers that you would need in a disaster.
- Fill out the family communications plan.
- Talk about where you will meet as a family. Choose a meeting spot inside your neighborhood and one outside of your neighborhood, in case you are at school when a disaster strikes.
- Make sure everyone in your family knows where the emergency kit is stored.
- Once you have a list of all the phone numbers, put it on your refrigerator and keep a copy in your emergency kit.
Safety Tip:
Remember, in a disaster, texting from a cell phone might work better than calling.
