No one Injured in Ceiling Collapse at Auburn Safeway
No one was injured in an early morning ceiling collapse at the Auburn Safeway store, but the store will be closed for repairs.
At 7:48 a.m., VRFA crews were called to a report of a partial roof collapse at the store, located at 101 Auburn Way South. Upon arrival, they found an approximately 10′ x 50′ section of the store’s interior ceiling structure had collapsed in a stocking area. No one was injured and all employees and shoppers were evacuated from the store.
Electricity, gas and water utilities were all affected by the collapse and had to be shut off. Firefighters conducted a search of the area and found no patients.
